The Peninsular Malaysia has a striking variety of endemic pit vipers. From the lowland mangroves to highlands like Cameron and Fraser’s hill, are occupied by these spectacular creatures. Though covering all of them in a short tour is not possible at all, still team Canopy Voyagers will try to explore and make you photograph most of them. We will spend first 2 days in South Malaysia and last 2 days in north. Be ready for the most awaited tour of the year presented by team CV. Best of luck folks….

Our skipper and photography mentor for this trip have almost 5 years of experience of photographing various rare species and conserving rare wildlife from his locality and Peninsular Malaysia. Join with us to photograph the beautiful herp species along with few other notables in the biodiverse tropical Forest.

Our mentor would guide you throughout the safari to understand the various techniques and methods of photographing wildlife, different animal behaviors and the correct way of approaching them to get better perspective images, and the ethics of Wildlife Photography.

We may encounter the below species during our expedition: –

Wagler’s Pit Viper, Malayan Horned frog, Malayan Pit Viper, Mangrove Cat Snake, Red Headed Krait, Wirot’s Pit Viper, Blue Coral Snake, Siamese Pit Viper, Hagen’s Pit Viper, Cameron Highland’s Pit Viper, Malayan Mountain Pit Viper.

Day 1: After your arrival at Kuala Lumpur Airport, you will be escorted to our camp site of at Fraser’s hill. Our Photography and biodiversity expert would guide you through the entire plan for the Trip. We will take rest in morning and will be out for our first night trail after it gets dark. We will try to explore the nearby places looking for the Siamese peninsular pit viper, Mountain Pit viper, Malayan Flying Frog, Blue Coral snakes and Red headed krait etc. Post this we will return to our hotel. Dinner and lights off.

Day 2: The day begins early at 9.00 am with a hot cup of tea and coffee. We will complete all the formalities of check out there and move to Cameron highlands by our car. After check into the hotel, we will have our lunch and take rest for some time. On evening we will do a night walk in the trails of Cameron Highlands for Cameron Highland pit viper, Mirkwood slug snake, Robbinson’s forest lizard, Calamaria Schlegeli, Yellow spotted trinket and Mountain Pit viper. Post night trail, will return to hotel and have a sweet dream with beautiful pictures

Day 3 & 4: Check out early morning from Cameron highlands and head towards North Malaysia. The last two days we will be at Kedah to photograph one of the rarest Wirot’s pit viper, Wagler’s pit viper, Hagen’s pit viper, Malayan Pit Viper, Reticulated Python and Mangrove Cat Snake. We can encounter the beautiful trapdoor spider in this expedition.

Day 5: We will explore the forest areas near our campsite for some time in the morning. Come back to camp for breakfast and you will be dropped to Penang Airport. Good bye folks…

  1. Macro lenses preferably 90mm along with wide-angle lens like 18-55mm or 15mm
  2. Camera flash with diffuser
  3. Rain covers for Camera
  4. Water bottles for extreme humid lowlands
  5. Headlight or Torch
  6. Extra camera batteries and memory cards
  7. Binoculars if possible
  8. Big scarf/cloth to protect your gear from dust
  9. Waterproof jacket or Poncho
  10. Sunscreen lotions
  11. Mosquito repellent cream
  12. Basic first aid
  13. Forest-friendly clothing, leech socks and Gum boots (Must need)
  14. Valid Passport and VISA

Rs 68,500 INRper participants inclusive of all taxes. 25% of the amount needs to be paid as booking fee (non-refundable). Balance 75% to be paid 60 days prior to departure date.

  • All cancellation requests must be sent through email to info@thecanopyvoyagers.com. The refund policy mentioned below will be applicable to amount outside of the 25% booking amount.
  • All cancellations before 90 days from departure date: 100% refund
  • All cancellations between 65 – 90 days from departure date: 75% refund
  • All cancellations between 30 – 65 days from departure date: 25% refund
  • All cancellations within 30 days from departure date: No refund can be made. We are sorry!
  • No refund will be granted for portion/portions of the journey not performed by the traveler.
  • No refund will be granted in case of non-performance of journey due to external and natural events.
